Help & support

A person answers.

Email support@yiimiconnect.com. We usually reply within a day.

Reporting abuse

The fastest way is inside the app: open the person, message or update and choose Report. A person on the Yiimi team reviews every report within 24 hours, and the person you report is not told who reported them. You can also email us; put “Report” in the subject line so it reaches the right queue first.

My calls keep dropping

Yiimi calls travel over the internet, so they need a steady connection. A weak signal shows as “Poor connection” at the top of the call. Moving to Wi-Fi or a stronger signal fixes most drops. If the other person’s phone is closed, a notification wakes Yiimi for them; if their phone is off or has no signal, the call rings until it times out. On a video call, a weak connection pauses the video and says so while you keep hearing each other; it comes back by itself when the signal does.

I didn’t get my verification code

Codes arrive by SMS within a minute. Check the number you typed, including the country code, and that your phone can receive texts. Tap Resend after the countdown. If it still doesn’t arrive, email support with your number.

Data and call charges

Yiimi never charges for calls or messages between Yiimi users. A voice call uses roughly half a megabyte of data a minute; a video call uses much more — up to about eight megabytes a minute at full quality, and up to about two and a half with “Use less data for video calls” on, which is how Yiimi comes set for mobile data (Settings → Storage and data). Your mobile provider bills that at its normal data rate. On Wi-Fi there is no charge at all.

Photos and voice notes in chats download by themselves on Wi-Fi and on mobile data unless you switch that off in Settings → Storage and data; documents download only when you tap them. A photo is at most 1 MB, a voice note about 120 KB a minute.

What happens when I block someone

They can’t call or message you on Yiimi, they disappear from your updates and you from theirs, and they are not told. It only covers Yiimi — they can still dial your SIM number.

Deleting your account

Settings → Delete account in the app, or the account deletion page if you cannot open the app.
